After we finished with the Mary and Anna Memorial Ride near the end of August, Max and I were nearly ready to throw in our RM hats. I know, we say that a lot sometimes. This time was poignant because we had to put out some pretty stringent guidelines to even hold the ride. We succeeded, but one thing became very evident. We have talked about it, thought about it, discussed it ad nauseum, until we just both knew the inevitable (without proper support) had happened. We just cannot afford to keep endorsing rides with EDRA at this time. We are still lifetime members, and we support the EDRA mission, but in terms of entries, we just can’t justify the financial bloodbath we take putting on EDRA rides.
That said, if we had enough folks come forward and commit to making an EDRA day possible and feasible, we would work hard to make it happen. (Don’t tell Max I said that, but…yes, for reals, we’d make it happen.)
At this time we have sanctioned the 2021 Grizzly Mtn Ride with AERC, holding a 25, 50, 75, and quite possibly a 100 mile ride. It’s really early in the season to consider a 100 mile ride, but if we had enough demand, we’d consider it seriously.
Have a great end to your season of what riding we were able to have. See you in 2021 at the Grizzly Mtn Ride!
