UPDATE: 4/13/2021 ~ Registration is closing and other notes!

As of 5 pm, 4/13/2021, online registration will be closing for the Grizzly Mtn Ride.

Shawna has lots of work to do before the ride Saturday. If you’re planning to register at the ride, please do send Shawna a note so your vet card is ready to go. Also, remember, your entry will be an additional $10.

VOLUNTEERS: We will be feeding you dinner on Friday evening, as well as a light breakfast, coffee, lunch (catered by Landmark Catering) and dinner, also catered by Landmark Catering (Thanks Woody and Celena!).

While we can’t plan a dinner for our riders this year, due to Covid restrictions, we will be feeding our volunteers. If you haven’t let Shawna know you’re coming to volunteer, please do so!

There are lots of gates out there with cows behind them, so we’ll be needing several gate monitors. We will be trying to send the gate folks out in pairs so no one is out there all alone. Most of the gate monitoring will be late morning, through the day, so we may send out pairs in shifts.

The vets can appreciate a scribe, but sometimes they prefer to go it alone. Also, there are always riders who need a horse presented for them and trotted out. These volunteers are always appreciated.

All of our volunteers are appreciated! Thank you for taking the time to come out to help!

EDUCATION OPPORTUNITY!

Friday, 4:00 pm: Long time rider, Lois Fox, will be leading an informative session for all the new to the sport folks attending the Grizzly Mtn Ride. Lois Fox is an AERC Decade Team rider, she has ridden numerous miles over a few decades. Lois can answer just about any question you may have about the sport of endurance riding. She also put together our line up of awards this year! Thanks Lois! (a little blurb about Lois)

Bring your questions and something to take a few notes on, if you want.

RIDE MEETING INFO:

Due to the sheer number of riders we have this year, with safety concerns in mind, we are going to hold 3 different ride meetings.

6:30 pm: 50 mile rider briefing

PLEASE SHOW UP TO YOUR MEETING WITH YOUR MASK ON! We will work to speak up so we can maintain social distancing. Yes, we’re going to keep the meetings brief and to the point.

PLEASE SHOW UP TO THIS RIDE WITH AN OPEN MIND, AN OPEN HEART, A BIG SMILE, AND A “CAN DO” ATTITUDE. WE’VE GOT THE MILES, YOU’VE GOT THE HORSES…

Now, let’s go ride!
